MicroSeismic Inc. (MSI) has contracted with Transform Software & Services to license key components of its TerraSuite software system for imaging unconventional gas reservoirs.
Transform’s TerraSuite software will help MSI to deliver high-quality interpretive microseismic information to its customers working in unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. As a result, these operators will better understand the microseismic implications for their unconventional projects so they can make faster and better completion decisions. There is no additional cost to MSI customers for these enhanced services.
"This will be an important value-added service to our customers,” said Peter Duncan, MSI President. “Rather than importing raw data files into legacy interpretation systems that have not been designed for microseismic interpretation and analysis, customers can now work with MSI-provided microseismic information in Transform’s customized, interactive viewers. This will make the whole process from acquisition through analysis more efficient and the entire process will be seamless for the customer.”
Transform’s technology enables operators working in unconventional plays to extract additional value from their investment in microseismic information by integrating hydraulic fracturing characterization with geophysical, geological and various engineering information.
As part of the agreement, MSI's development group will have access to Transform's full technology suite to support experimentation with new microseismic event location techniques and integration with geomechanical and other data types.
